About this track:

The first version of this music was composed by Rodrigo "Pilu" Spagnuolo originally in 2007, in Madrid, Spain, as part of the repertoire of Las Persianas, a band founded by Spagnuolo, Agnés Mateus, Atilio Leites and the musician, and theatrical creator, César Álvarez
When Spagnuolo returned to his native country (Uruguay), in 2008, the song was released for the first time that year, integrating "Siberia", the first album by Pilonius, the author's solo project.
In 2010, César Álvarez created the street show Rodafonio, a musical magic wheel, performed by his company Factoría Circular. For the show, Álvarez entrusted his friend Spagnuolo with the composition of the six pieces that would make up the original soundtrack of the show Rodafonio.
For one of the moments of the show Spagnuolo worked on the original idea of Empuñadura (Hilt), thinking that the hybrid of ska and gypsy and Latin music was perfect.
He wrote, then, for the main melody (previously sung) a new arrangement for saxophone. He renamed the song "Que gastaba melodías" (That spent melodies). The result worked very well, leaving both, director and composer, satisfied.
Eight years later (eleven since the first version), Spagnuolo recorded and edited the song with his orchestra, to integrate the album "La gesta nocturna" by Pilonius Orquesta. This is that version
